How to Make Your Left and Right Earbuds More Noticeable

Perhaps a byproduct of technology substituting for actual human interaction, many people are adverse to striking up random conversations while on public transit, walking down the street, or standing in line at the grocery store. As a byproduct, more and more people are wearing their earbuds everywhere in public, but how can you ensure that passersby will notice yours? There are a few easy ways to accomplish this.

A Sea of Distraction

Anyone who has recently spent time in a city can attest to the fact that most people you pass on the street will be wearing some sort of headphones, usually in the form of earbuds.

This allows you to catch up on your favorite podcast, or make hands free phone calls, which is great until a coworker feels slighted that you ignored them calling your name, or a stranger thinks you’re talking to them and not your mom through your earbuds. The easiest way to avoid situations like these is simply making both earbuds more noticeable.

The Bigger, The Better

As far as regular earbuds go, the chords are often a dead giveaway that you’re wearing them. If this isn’t enough, though, you can bulk up the buds themselves. This way, they’ll sit further out of your ears, and the sound quality will also be better thanks to a snug fit. Plus, you won’t have to worry about them falling out.

If you’ve jumped on the wireless trend with Apple’s Airpods or some other product of the like, avoid wearing your hair or some clothing item in front of your ears as this will conceal the buds entirely. Wear them loosely in your ear canal, as this will also facilitate a better fit.

Few things are worse than awkward interactions with strangers, and making your earbuds more noticeable will help prevent them.
